If you are suffering from constipation then here are some home remedies that you can try to relieve yourself.

Oil

Pure olive oil is more than just a healthy and tasty fat as it is also able to relieve constipation. Olive oil is able to stimulate your digestive system which helps to get things moving through your colon. Taking olive oil regularly will also help to prevent constipation.

In the morning take one tablespoon of olive oil. It works best on an empty stomach. You can mix it with a little bit of lemon juice to lighten the flavor. Also lemon juice acts as a natural aid for constipation.

Fresh Lemon Juice

The citric acid in lemon juice acts as a stimulant for your digestive system and is able to help flush out toxins and undigested material that may have built up along the walls of the colon.

Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into 1 cup of warm water. Drink until it is finished.

Molasses

Blackstrap molasses works for constipation because of how it is made. Regular molasses is pure cane sugar juice boiled to concentrate and crystallize sugar. The third boiling will create blackstrap molasses which is crystallized but contains vitamins and minerals such as magnesium which will help with constipation.

Consume one teaspoon of blackstrap molasses. If you are not keen on the taste you can dilute it with a cup of warm water or tea.

Coffee

Coffee does not just perk you up as it is also a natural stimulant for the digestive system. If you drink too much coffee though it can actually cause constipation. 1 to 2 cups of coffee is plenty.

Moving

If you want stuff to move in your body then you need to move. We are usually sitting more often then moving these days. Moving the body helps gets the smooth muscle in the colon moving. You will need to wait an hour after big meals before you exercise. There are also stretches and workouts that are aimed at getting your bowls moving.
